Sucking on objects can be considered a bad habit in preschool children.
Some parents, having noticed such behavior in their child, try to take away from him his favorite thing to which he is so attached.
Most likely, you will win, because you are physically stronger, but such a step leads to the fact that the child's tension increases, and sucking on an object is replaced by sucking a finger, picking at the skin, or another pathological habit.
Also, discard any thoughts of punishing or shaming your child for the affection he or she shows.
You should also not talk about your child’s favorite subject – your reminders only lead to you recording it in words, emphasizing and reinforcing the bad habit.
Your task as a parent is to fill your baby’s life, to interest her in new games and hobbies.
Help your child find a true friend.
Be sure to spend as much time as possible with your child, talk, play, and you will see that the need for a soft toy or blanket that the baby sucks on will gradually disappear on its own.
