Tight shoes, prolonged exposure to the sun and hot baths lead to varicose veins and thrombosis.
Russian phlebologist Elena Smirnova warned about this.
Her recommendations are cited by MIA "Russia Today" .
As Smirnova explained, the main mistakes that lead to varicose veins and thrombosis are wearing tight shoes and tight clothing, spending a long time in the sun, and a passion for saunas and hot baths.
Speaking about preventive measures, the doctor recommended leading an active lifestyle and monitoring weight.
If you have a sedentary job, you should change the position of your legs more often and do therapeutic exercise.
Basic exercises are circular movements of the foot, flexion and extension of the legs at the ankle joint, walking/running in place.
Also useful are exercises lying on your back, the well-known “bicycle” and “scissors,” the specialist added.
