Hot and fragrant tea is perfect for the cold season, and the same drink, only chilled, is an excellent option for a hot summer.
But did you know that tea is not only tasty, but also healthy?
According to a recent study, this drink may be able to prevent diabetes.
Scientists from Australia and China involved 2,000 people aged 20 to 80 in the experiment.
A quarter of the study participants had been diagnosed with diabetes, and about the same number had a predisposition to the disease.
As a result, it was possible to find out that those who drink black tea every day have a 47% reduced risk of developing diabetes, and those who prefer green tea have a 28% reduced risk compared to those who do not drink tea at all.
According to researcher Tongzhi Wu, people with diabetes have problems removing glucose from the body, while some trace elements in black tea help the kidneys remove sugar from the blood.
However, it is too early to draw final conclusions, because at the moment there is only one study on this topic.
To confirm their findings, the same scientists conducted a new experiment in which participants were required to drink only black tea for a certain period of time.
