Oatmeal is tasty and filling, but you can’t eat it when you have a cold.

This statement was made by nutritionist Zhanna Tikhanycheva, reports Moscow 24 .

She noted that oatmeal is a mucus-forming food that can worsen cold symptoms.

For this reason, it is worth considering that a person who has a wet cough or runny nose should exclude such a dish from their diet for some time.

Tikhanycheva also added that a healthy person should not eat oatmeal every day. It is enough to cook porridge up to two times a week.

It is advisable to choose long-cooking flakes and cook them in water.

It is acceptable to add a little butter to the porridge.

You can also serve berries or baked fruits. In this case, you can get maximum benefit and a long-lasting feeling of satiety.
