Dermatologist warns about the dangers of itchy moles
A dermatologist-oncologist explained in what situations an itchy mole signals a serious problem.
Doctor Olga Antonova listed cases when a mole should cause concern.
The doctor pointed out that it is not always a health hazard. For example, sometimes a mole itches due to mechanical irritation of the skin after contact with clothing or shoes.
Often the problem arises after going to the pool, when peeling begins. Itching can also be caused by an allergy, reports the portal " Moscow 24 ".
In more serious cases we are talking about dermatitis, psoriasis, herpes, exacerbation of chronic diseases (bile stasis, diabetes).
The dermatologist noted that in the worst-case scenario, itching could indicate the development of an oncological disease. Antonova reported that the unpleasant sensation in this case is supplemented by a burning and tingling sensation in the area of the mole.
The doctor emphasized that in this situation the best decision is to visit a specialist. In addition, according to her, the reason for examination is a change in the shape and color of the mole, its growth, the presence of cracks and wounds, bleeding.
