Nutritionist Irina Mansurova warned fans of the popular dish that it contains carcinogens.

The doctor emphasized that these substances provoke the development of a fatal disease, Life reports. In anticipation of the barbecue season, the doctor recommended not to get carried away with meat cooked on fire.

The nutritionist pointed out that carcinogens are not only found in fried meat. Smoke is also a source of health hazard, as it contains carbon monoxide, benzopyrene and other harmful substances.

Mansurova added that the fumes from fat dripping onto the coals are also unsafe for humans. They also contain carcinogens that can cause cancer.

The doctor gave several recommendations for barbecue lovers. According to her, regular firewood is preferable to store-bought coals.

The doctor noted that kindling deals a "triple blow" to health. After the wood has caught fire, you need to wait 20-25 minutes, Mansurova advised.

The doctor also recommends not frying meat, but baking it. To do this, the distance between the coals and the food should be at least 25 cm. The nutritionist advises cutting off the crust from the meat.
