Secrets of Longevity: 102-Year-Old Woman Shares Her 2 Principles

A Canadian resident named two reasons why she lived to such a respectable age.

Layla Martin celebrated her 102nd birthday in March 2023. The woman admitted that she has been guided by two principles all her life.

The Canadian-born Martin was born in 1921 and worked in a munitions factory during World War II. Even then, she says, she developed a “strong work ethic.” She also looked up to her mother, who worked her entire life.

Therefore, it was normal for Laila to get up early every day and work hard and with full dedication. With this principle, the woman later worked in the real estate industry. Martin believes that it is work that plays a big role in the development of personality and, perhaps, somehow affects longevity.

The second probable reason for her long life, the Canadian named, is her ability to cope with stress and not be at its mercy, the Barrie Today portal reports. Martin explained that in her 102 years she has rarely worried about anything.

“I just get up in the morning, do what I need to do, and deal with whatever happens throughout the day,” the centenarian shared.

Martin believes that there is no point in worrying about things that are beyond her control. The Canadian is confident that she has lived a good life and is happy that at such an advanced age she is in good physical shape. Having passed the 100 mark, the woman moves independently and loves walks in the park.
