Professional cleaners claim that this white powder can cause irreparable damage to some materials.

What you can't clean with baking soda

Do not use baking soda to clean wooden surfaces, including cutting boards and dining tables.

If you decide to clean windows, mirrors or glassware with baking soda, be prepared for them to become scratched.

For the same reason, it is worth washing the glass-ceramic hob with special products, and not with soda.

They must also be used to clean painted surfaces.

The ban applies not only to glass, but also to aluminum, copper, cast iron, and stainless steel items. Soda can damage such items and thus worsen their appearance and performance.

What to do? As mentioned earlier, you can use household chemicals, or you can prepare a weak solution with the addition of dishwashing liquid or regular soap. It will help to tidy up wood, aluminum, copper and stainless steel.

When it comes to glass, mirrors and windows, the best option is to use a solution of equal parts 9% vinegar and distilled water.
