It's winter outside. And that means that, in addition to other misfortunes, we are faced with such an opportunity as chapping.
Very often the skin of the lips becomes chapped, frost dries it out and, as a result, it cracks.
It would seem that such products as special lip balms should come to the rescue.

They provide an extra layer of protection. But not all of them.
Some balms, on the contrary, increase dryness and irritation, and we apply them again and again.
Therefore, dermatologists advise paying attention to certain ingredients in such products.
According to them, a good product is distinguished by the presence of components that moisturize, soften and nourish the lips.
After application, lips become soft and smooth, receiving a protective layer that prevents moisture evaporation and minimizes the effects of wind, dry air and frost.
This effect is achieved by the following ingredients: castor oil, glycerin, petrolatum, ceramides, hemp oil, dimethicone and shea butter.
Coconut, olive or avocado oil will help already chapped lips.
If you spend a lot of time outdoors in the winter, it is best to use balms with SPF 30 or higher.
They will protect your lips from ultraviolet radiation, which leads to dryness, burns and even skin cancer.
However, components such as menthol, peppermint oil or camphor are undesirable, although they create a feeling of cooling.
Dermatologists say they can cause skin irritation.
Experts also advise against using balms with fragrances, flavor additives, eucalyptus oil, salicylic acid and lanolin.
