Limescale in the toilet? Take citrus fruits – problem solved

27.01.2025 11:43

Unfortunately, the toilet often becomes the leader in our homes in terms of the number of different types of contaminants.

This situation creates ideal conditions for the proliferation of harmful bacteria, which in turn increases the risk of health problems.

Even cleaning products that are designed to combat dirt leave marks.

Ultimately, if this important piece of plumbing is not properly maintained, limescale deposits may form in it.

The main “creators” of such plaque are microbes and bacteria that stick to the surface.

The plaque may take on a yellowish tint, especially if traces of ineffective, low-quality cleaning products remain in the toilet.

But the problem can be solved without them, thereby saving money.

All you need is citrus fruits and a little water.

What do we do? Boil 1 liter of water and add juice and peel of citrus fruits, such as lemon, orange, tangerine or grapefruit.

Let the mixture sit for a bit – the citric acid should completely dissolve in the water, and the peel should give off its aroma.

Then, using a sponge – wearing protective gloves – we distribute our mixture over the inner surface of the toilet.

Leave for half an hour, then clean with a sponge or brush. The last step is to rinse with warm water.

How does the method work? Thanks to the citric acid of citrus fruits, which dissolves and softens tartar.

It is best to use this product once a week – and the toilet will always be in perfect condition.
