Carpets in an apartment are not only a way to add some zest to it, but also coverings that absorb a lot of dirt, which is why after some time of use they begin to smell unpleasant.

Fortunately, this bad news is easily offset by the knowledge that there is an effective home remedy that can help refresh your carpet with ease.

We suggest that you also use the instructions from cleaners to get rid of the repulsive “aroma”.

The first step is to prepare the carpet – this means you need to clear the room of furniture to gain full access to the surface you are cleaning.

The next thing to do is to vacuum the flooring. This will remove most of the dirt and debris.

Then apply a thick layer of baking soda to the carpet, paying special attention to stains. Leave for 2 hours or overnight so that the baking soda absorbs odors and dirt. For stubborn stains, add a little water to the baking soda to form a paste.

Then prepare a vinegar solution of 1 tablespoon of acid per 1 liter of water. Vinegar has excellent cleaning properties, and you don’t have to worry about the smell – it will disappear immediately after drying.

Allow the carpet to dry naturally, then add a fresh scent. Essential oils are ideal for this purpose.

Choose a scent you like and spray it on your carpet so that the fragrance is evenly distributed over the entire surface.

For reference

A carpet is a dense woven product made from various types of yarn (or a synthetic imitation of it), used to cover floors, and sometimes other surfaces in a room (tables, sofas, etc.) for decorative, insulating, ritual or acoustic purposes.
