Winter is the time when our hands suffer most often. Or rather, the skin on them.

And all because the frosty air and wind are doing their dirty work.

But even indoors there is a risk of harming the skin, for example, when handling household chemicals, frequently washing hands with soap and using antiseptics.

Experts have told how to avoid problems with the skin of your hands. It is very simple, but you need to follow certain rules every day.

Gloves

They should not be ignored, as this type of clothing protects hands from frost and wind.

If your hands are still frozen, don’t rush to warm them up under hot water at home.

Such a step can lead to irritation, and a sharp change in temperature will worsen the condition of the skin and blood vessels.

Experts say that you can wash your hands under lukewarm or even cool water. Or warm up and then wash your hands.

When it comes to house cleaning, you should wear rubber household gloves.

They will protect your hands from aggressive substances that are abundant in household chemicals.

Even if you intend to limit yourself to just washing dishes or wiping a mirror, still wear gloves.

Cream

Experts advise applying cream after each hand washing procedure.

Products containing glycerin, fatty saturated oils (say, shea or olive oil), and vitamins are preferable.

Creams with herbal additives, such as chamomile, oil extract of succession, etc., are effective.

Natural ingredients have a restorative effect.

Experts say that when applying the cream, it is essential to massage your hands to improve blood circulation and enhance the action of the beneficial substances.

Scrub

After frost, chapped skin on the hands often becomes rough and begins to peel.

To remove the keratinized layer, experts recommend using a scrub.

According to them, it will improve blood circulation and the skin will receive much needed nutrients.

It is enough to use this product twice a week.

It is recommended to apply to damp skin with massaging movements (massage for about 5 minutes).

Then wash off the scrub with warm water and apply a nourishing cream.

Antiseptics

Apply to hands only after we have washed them with soap and dried them thoroughly.

If you notice irritation on your hands, you can treat them with an alcohol-based solution, then apply a moisturizer.
