Potatoes to the rescue

But you shouldn’t get rid of this wardrobe item and rush to return it to the store.

There is one trick that will help you stretch your shoes at home.

The most popular vegetable, Mr. Potato, will help with this matter.

Take two medium-sized potatoes, peel them and dry them.

It is important to choose a fruit that is slightly larger than the part of the shoe that needs to be stretched (toe, heel, side).

The vegetable should fit into the boot snugly, but not too tightly.

Before sending it there, wrap each potato in one layer of toilet paper or paper towel.

This way we will prevent potato juice from getting on the leather of the shoe, which means we will prevent it from becoming stained or damaged.

Placement procedure

Place the potato inside the shoe so that it is positioned as close as possible to the part that is pressing.

So, if the toe is pressing, move closer to it, the heel – to that area, etc.

Leave it like this overnight, but it’s better to put the shoes with the vegetable in a plastic bag.

This method will keep the moisture inside and prevent the potatoes from drying out.

Now, that's it. Leave it overnight like this.

During the night (you can do it during the day, but leave it for at least 8 hours) the moisture from the potatoes will gradually be absorbed into the leather of the shoe, stretching it.

In the morning, look at the effect. You will be surprised, but nothing will be tight anymore.

If it didn't work

Please note: this method is only suitable for shoes made of genuine leather.

Artificial tissue is almost impossible to stretch in this way.

If your shoes are still tight after a night in the company of potatoes, try “packing” them in warm socks and wearing them around the house for a couple of days.

In this way, additional stretching of the skin can be achieved.
