The citrus fruit season is coming. In autumn and winter, oranges are in particular demand among the population.
Fruits from all over the world are available in stores and markets. All you have to do is choose the juiciest and sweetest orange.
This is not as difficult as it seems – much easier than choosing a ripe watermelon. It is only important to follow the following rules.
Rule number one: size
Large oranges are not always sweet and juicy. Often their pulp is dry and pale in taste.
In contrast, medium-sized fruits are usually sweet, juicy and aromatic.
It is important to pay attention to weight and density. You won’t go wrong if you choose a heavier and firmer fruit.
It is better to put light and soft ones aside.
Rule two: smell
Despite the processing that all imported fruits, berries and vegetables undergo, the orange retains a strong aroma.
The more pronounced it is, the fresher the fruit in front of you.
Third rule: color
Juicy oranges have a bright and uniform color. The skin is smooth and undamaged.
You can also tell by the skin whether the fruit in front of you is thick-skinned or not. This quality is usually indicated by porous skin.
