How to Store Pickles After Opening a Jar: A “Mustard” Life Hack

Do you like to ride? Love to pull the sled! This unspoken rule also applies to pickles.

It sounds like this: if you love pickled cucumbers and tomatoes, then you simply need to get acquainted with the rules for storing them.

There are two options here: either eat the entire contents of the jar within 1-2 days after opening it, or use the so-called “mustard” life hack.

Otherwise, you risk forgetting about the preparation – in a week the vegetables will go sour, and you will have to throw the almost full jar of preparations in the trash.

To extend the shelf life of pickles, you will need to mix a little mustard and boiled water until you get a thick paste.

This substance needs to be placed on a piece of gauze and covered with the same piece on top.

Now you should cover the jar with the preserves with this gauze, and you still need to put a lid on top.

Thanks to this layer of mustard, the preserves will remain tasty longer, since bacteria will not multiply in the jar.
