Beetroot can safely be called the favorite root vegetable of many Soviet housewives.
Still in doubt? Ask your grandmothers – they probably know at least five dishes with beets: borscht, vinaigrette, salad with mayonnaise and garlic, beetroot caviar, cold soup…
True, this vegetable has one drawback that can discourage any desire to work with it.
The thing is that beets secrete a lot of bright juice, which stains everything pink, including hands, dishes and cutting boards.
It is especially difficult to deal with stains on a board, and if it is made of wood, it is completely impossible.
If you are experiencing a similar problem, try using regular vegetable oil.
First, rinse the kitchen utensils with water and then wipe them with a cotton pad soaked in oil.
The pink stains will disappear right before your eyes, leaving your cutting board clean again.
