If you are going to buy shoes, a bag or another item and want to make sure that genuine leather was used during production, use a little trick.
Based on the fact that the material of natural origin absorbs moisture well, it is enough to conduct a small test by wetting the product.
Of course, there is no need to visit stores with a bottle of water to pour liquid on the products on display.
Instead, when you go shopping, take some regular wet wipes with you and briefly apply one to the material.
It only takes 10 seconds for the natural leather to absorb the moisture. The mark will disappear completely after drying, so you don’t have to worry about ruining the item.
If you don’t notice any traces of moisture on the product, it is most likely made of leatherette.
Of course, for testing you should use only wet wipes without alcohol or vegetable oil, and even better - warn the sales consultant that you are going to conduct a test.
