When washing terry towels, do not use fabric softener.
Yes, this product softens many items quite well.
But the towel is an exception. Because of the conditioner, this thing can become too stiff.
Fortunately, it is possible to restore the softness of the product.
There are two simple ways to make your towel feel very pleasant to the touch.
How to soften a terry towel
First, the product should be wetted with plain water and rubbed well with laundry soap. This is the first saving remedy.
The second important remedy is citric acid. For 100 milliliters of water there should be 2 tablespoons of citric acid.
Place a towel rubbed with soap in a plastic bag, pour the resulting solution into it and tie the bag.
In this form, the towel should be heated in the microwave for exactly 120 seconds.
When the time is up, transfer the item to the drum of the washing machine. Be careful: after "processing" in the microwave oven, the towel will be very hot, so use some improvised means.
The rinse mode must be activated on the washing machine.
The result of the procedure should be a perfectly clean and soft towel.
