Sleeping at night during the heat is a real "pleasure".
High temperatures disrupt the body's natural thermoregulation, so getting a good night's sleep in such conditions is difficult.
We offer some simple tips to help you cope with the heat and improve the quality of your sleep.
Don't open the curtains.
Blackout curtains will help keep the bedroom cool, as they do not let in light, which means they do not allow the room to heat up. If the day is especially hot, keep the curtains drawn around the clock - this way they will not allow not only the daytime sun, but also its morning rays to penetrate the room.
Put the blanket and pillows away in the closet
If you store your bedding in a closed closet or chest of drawers, it won't heat up along with the bed - believe me (and check): it will be much cooler to sleep on.
Avoid exercising before bed.
Exercising before bed helps you fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly, but not in the summer. Because exercise causes your body temperature to rise, you'll likely toss and turn all night due to internal heat.
Don't hug
In hot weather, try to minimize contact with your partner or pet while you sleep—cuddling makes it harder for your body to cool down.
Choose the right posture
Don't sleep curled up when the outside thermometer is trying to reach new heights. Instead, lie on your back with your arms and legs spread out to improve circulation and reduce sweating.
