Some people, in order to save time, pour water into the kettle not from the cold tap, but from the hot tap.
This should never be done, experts warn.
We explain why you should only pour cold water into the kettle.
Why you can't pour hot water into a kettle
Firstly, it is harmful to health, water from the hot tap is intended for household needs, not for drinking.
A single use will not be fatal, but constant use can lead to health problems.
Secondly, hot water produces more scale when boiling, and scale, in turn, reduces the service life of the kettle.
In addition, using water from the hot tap worsens the taste of tea/coffee.
