If you notice damage to things stored in a closet, or even see a moth flying around the room, there is no doubt that your apartment has been taken over by clothes moths.
Instead of panicking and hiding fur, wool and velvet items far away, check out the tips from experienced housewives: they will guarantee that the fight against the pest will be successful.
1. First of all, do a general cleaning, which should be accompanied by long-term airing - such measures will be especially effective in winter, in severe frost.
2. All clothes should be washed - choose the highest possible temperature for them. Alternatively, treat them with a steam generator.
3. Steam treatment should be carried out on those surfaces where moth nests were found.
4. Clothes can also be frozen on the balcony (if the weather outside allows) or in the refrigerator - at sub-zero temperatures, moths, larvae and caterpillars die.
5. If it is summer outside, you can leave things in the sun. The sun affects moths in the same way as cold.
6. Consider spraying your closet with dichlorvos-based aerosol – this is one of the fastest ways to get rid of moths.
