A kitchen sponge that has been used for a long time needs to be disinfected periodically.
After all, over time, dangerous microorganisms appear on the product, which can end up on the dishes.
Luckily, disinfecting a kitchen sponge is very easy.
Regular table salt will help you achieve the desired result. In addition, you need to use table vinegar.
How to disinfect a sponge
First, you need to squeeze some dishwashing gel onto it.
After this, the product must be rinsed with tap water.
The sponge prepared for the procedure must be placed in a container into which a liter of boiling water has been poured, and sprinkled with salt (1 tbsp is enough).
Pour table vinegar (4 tbsp) onto the item floating in water and leave it in the hot liquid for half an hour.
After completing the procedure, the sponge should be rinsed with a salt solution to which a little dishwashing liquid has been added.
The final stage is rinsing the product with plain water.
Although it is possible to disinfect sponges, we still recommend not to use them for too long.
