After using chewing gum, it does not always end up in the trash can – it also happens that gum ends up in your hair.

Instead of cutting off the affected strand, try removing the sticky substance using the method in this article.

As soon as you notice a problem, carefully separate the dirty strand from the main mass of hair, securing it with hairpins so that clean hairs do not stick to the sticky mass.

Don't delay in removing the gum - it's easiest to do this while it's soft. Hardened gum will be more difficult to deal with.

How to remove gum from hair

The most effective way is to use vegetable or cosmetic oil.

Saturate the solidified mass with oil. Do not skimp on vegetable fat: distribute the oil above and below the stain, to the very ends of the hair.

Leave the hair in this state for 15-20 minutes, then grab the strand at the roots to avoid painful sensations during cleaning. With the other hand, gently pull the mass down.

To remove any remaining dirt, use a comb – a fine-tooth comb is best.

After the procedure, wash your hair and be sure to apply conditioner.
