Modern kitchens often use countertops made of various materials, such as artificial and natural stone, glass, stainless steel and ceramic tiles. The most common are countertops made of solid wood or chipboard with plastic cladding.
However, it doesn’t matter at all what exactly the tabletop is made of.
It is much more important to know how to protect its surface from deformation and rapid destruction, which inevitably occur due to exposure to moisture and other negative factors.
To prevent scratches on your countertop and protect it from other damage, follow these simple rules.
1. Use cutting boards when cooking, even if you are not cutting food. And, of course, make sure that the cutting process takes place only on a special stand.
2. Do not leave knives and forks on the countertop as they may scratch it.
3. Protect the countertop from prolonged exposure to moisture and do not use abrasives, metal sponges and brushes when cleaning - all of them do not reflect well on the surface.
4. If you need to attach a meat grinder or other device, use a soft cloth as a lining.
