Perhaps many of us like to indulge in a hot drink called tea.
This is especially good if the tea can be prepared quickly by adding a tea bag to boiling water.
What if you try brewing the same tea bag again? Surely, some people do just that.
In this regard, the question is: is this correct? Does such a procedure harm the body?
Experts' opinion
Nutritionists say: no, it doesn’t do any harm, but they don’t see any particular need to brew the same tea bag twice.
They argue from the position of the drink's benefits. They argue as follows: the bag contains crushed tea leaves.
The thinner it is cut, the faster the nutrients will go into the water. Therefore, when brewing again, this very benefit will become even less.
And if someone who is too thrifty brews a tea bag for the third time, they will be faced with a complete zero amount of nutrients and saturation in the tea.
Experts note: only with the first brewing do you get the best infusion available when consuming a packaged drink.
What about green tea?
When it comes to green tea, experts recommend not buying it in bags.
The explanation is as follows: green tea is considered elite, and products of this category are not put in tea bags.
Usually, processed tea leaf products are sent there, i.e. it contains crushed leaves.
It is important to remember that under certain circumstances, re-brewing a tea bag can have a negative impact on a person's health.
Bacteria and mold
If a relatively long time has passed between the first and second brewing, a film of oxidized polyphenols may form on the surface of the drink.
The latter create favorable conditions for the appearance of bacteria and mold.
Therefore, it is important: if you brew the same tea bag a second time, do it immediately after the first procedure.
It is also worth understanding that some manufacturers add dyes to tea bags to give the drink a richer flavor.
But they are of no use in terms of benefit even the first time you brew them, let alone the second time.
