Usually housewives don't buy a lot of greens.
After all, in many cases dill, parsley and cilantro quickly wither.
This often happens just a couple of days after purchase.
However, there is a way to significantly “extend the life” of greenery.
The trick with a jar and a plastic bag helps ensure that dill and parsley stay fresh for several weeks.
How to Preserve Greens with a Jar and Bag
You need to use a glass container. For example, a jar. But you can also use a glass.
Pour cold water into the container, filling it about 50% full.
Place a bunch of greens in a jar/glass. Put a plastic bag on the container and secure it with a rubber band.
The bag is needed to ensure that less air gets into the jar.
Place the container on one of the refrigerator shelves.
With this approach, the greens will remain fresh for quite a long time.
There is another option: take a bunch of greens, wrap its ends in a slightly damp paper napkin, put the resulting “construction” in a plastic container, close the container and leave it in the refrigerator.
Earlier we explained why you should put damp newspaper in the refrigerator.
