If for some reason you need to remove iodine from clothes, know that you can do this either with the help of household chemicals or armed with improvised means.

Potato starch vs. iodine

To remove the stain, you need to thoroughly wet the stained area with cool water.

Then sprinkle potato starch generously directly onto the stain. If you did everything correctly, the stain should change color from brown to blue.

After this, all that remains is to wash the item (it wouldn’t hurt to treat it again with a stain remover or washing powder) and wash the item in the usual way.

If the stain has been on your clothes for a long time, you will have to leave it under a layer of starch overnight.

Cut the tuber in half and apply it to both sides of the fabric in the stained area.

After a few minutes, when the potato juice has been absorbed into the material, the stain should be treated in exactly the same way as described in the previous case.
