Leaving the washing machine door open between washes is not a good idea, experts say.
We explain why it is better to keep the loading hatch of the washing machine closed.
Should I leave the washing machine door open?
Firstly, there is no need to leave the machine door open: the required ventilation of the drum is provided by the manufacturer.
Secondly, if you keep a heavy door open all the time, it may sag.
Sagging of the door, in turn, is fraught with accelerated wear of the internal elements of the hatch locking device and even jamming.
Thirdly, by forcibly drying the tank cavity, you violate the design features of the equipment.
The water remaining in the machine after washing acts as a water seal, protecting the internal mechanisms from air.
