One of the, so to speak, “components” of genuine leather is collagen – a natural protein responsible for the softness, elasticity and strength of the material.
True, collagen has a significant drawback - it is unstable to mechanical damage. Therefore, leather clothing should be handled very carefully.
To maintain the elasticity of your items, avoid folding, rolling or stretching them on a hanger that is the wrong size.
You can prevent the formation of creases and cracks by timely moisturizing the leather with special products, and fabric cotton covers will help get rid of moisture and dust.
As a rule, genuine leather is used to make outerwear – jackets, coats, etc.
These items retain heat well, are breathable and frost-resistant.
If you want to preserve all of these properties, before you wear your leather jacket outside for the first time, treat it with a clear shoe polish.
This way you can protect it from moisture and dirt.
Please note that leather clothing should not be soaked in water or cleaned with solvents. To clean the surface, use a sponge or clean soft cloth, as well as a solution of water, soap and ammonia.
