In most cases, when cleaning the bathroom, housewives limit themselves to wiping the mirror, cleaning the bathtub and sink, leaving the plumbing for later.

The shower head suffers the most from such neglect. If you do not provide it with proper care, the shower head can quickly break down.

If you would like to avoid such consequences, use our advice.

Vinegar

This product will help you out if you don’t have any special chemicals at hand or if your shower is non-detachable.

Fill a plastic bag with a solution of water and vinegar, then place the shower head inside. Tie the bag tightly and leave for 30-40 minutes, depending on the degree of contamination.

After this, remove the shower head from the bag and clean it with a brush, then wash off any remaining dirt and wipe the plumbing with a soft microfiber cloth.

Coca-Cola

If you're out of commercial cleaner but happen to have a bottle of soda in your fridge, you can use it to clean your shower head.

Heat the cola on the stove or in the microwave and soak the shower head in it for 30-40 minutes. Keep in mind that soda is a fairly aggressive liquid, so do not leave the plumbing in contact with it for more than an hour.

Citric acid

You can make an abrasive paste using lemon juice by mixing citric acid with a small amount of water to form a thick paste.

Apply this paste to the shower head, leave for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with clean water and thoroughly dry the plumbing fixture with a soft cloth.
