Caring for home textiles is a rather controversial topic.
There are especially many contradictions regarding ironing curtains. Among housewives there is even an opinion that they do not need this procedure at all.
In fact, this is not true - curtains made of most fabrics need to be ironed after washing. The only exceptions are those made of nylon, chenille, thick types of ottoman and other heavy fabrics that can be hung on a curtain rod straight from the machine.
This category also includes blackout curtains – thick curtains that have the ability to block out light.
They owe this feature to the dense weaving of three types of threads, which makes the fabric three-layered.
The fabric in the middle is always dark, while the layers adjacent to it can be any color.
It is allowed to wash such products in water, the temperature of which does not exceed 40 degrees, and the spin should not exceed 400 revolutions.
However, you can safely refuse this function - blackout curtains dry quickly even without wringing.
Ironing of such fabric is not necessary. If you still notice "unsightly" folds, you can get rid of them with an iron turned on at 70-100 degrees in the "Synthetics" mode.
