Any housewife knows that a cut lemon usually does not last long.
If you put a citrus fruit in the refrigerator that already has a piece cut off, and do not take any additional measures, then after a couple of days the fruit will dry out and will not have a bright taste.
Of course, a lemon bowl can come to the rescue. But what should a housewife do if she does not have access to this dish?
Fortunately, there are three ways out of this situation.
Lemon wedges and sugar
The citrus pieces should be placed in a jar and covered with granulated sugar.
The container should be placed in the refrigerator. The lemon will be stored for a very long time.
Almost whole fruit and sugar
If you don’t want to cut the lemon, you can simply take a saucer, pour sugar into it and place the fruit cut side down on a flat plate.
Lemon and water
If the housewife does not want to use sugar as a preservative, then plain water will come to the rescue.
It is enough to take a regular cup, pour some liquid into it and put a lemon in the vessel. As in the previous case, the fruit should be placed cut down.
Any of the above methods guarantees that citrus fruits will retain their freshness, juiciness and bright taste for a long time.
