There are several ways to remove paint residue from a roller roll.

We will share three of the most effective ones with you in this article.

Water-based dyes

First, squeeze the roller to remove any remaining water-based paint, and if the substance has hardened, roll the roller over the wall or paper or use a scraper.

After this, prepare two containers, pour water with two tablespoons of liquid soap into one of them - you will wash the roller in it, having previously detached the handle from it, and in the second - just clean water, which is needed for rinsing.

Oil paints

In this case, in addition to gloves, you will need a special solvent, in which you need to completely immerse the roller for about 20 minutes.

After the specified time, roll the roller along the bottom of the basin, squeezing it from time to time. This should be done until it stops leaving a trace of paint.

If some particles of the dye have not been removed, they should be removed manually.

Acrylic paint

If the paint has not yet had time to dry, you will need ordinary water.

Hardened acrylic can be removed using a solvent based on acetone, petrol or white spirit (similar to oil paints).
