There's no point in hiding it - stains on the carpet can be an unpleasant surprise for anyone.

But here's the good news: in most cases, you don't even have to go to the store to get rid of them. Instead, head to the kitchen and look in the cupboard for a bottle of vinegar.

This is what you will need to prepare a vinegar solution, a product that has proven itself to be excellent for cleaning carpets.

You will need to mix 500 ml of water with 2 tablespoons of vinegar.

Using a sponge, apply the solution to the carpet, rub lightly and let dry. When the carpet is dry, vacuum it or at least sweep it.

To combat stubborn stains, the effect of vinegar can be enhanced by adding 1 tablespoon of acetic acid and the same amount of liquid soap to 500 ml of water.

Use this solution to treat the stains, then scrub lightly with a brush or stiff sponge to remove the dirt.

Finally, remove any residue with a damp towel and allow the carpet to dry.
