In such cases, you need to act quickly before the chewing gum dries.

We'll tell you the easiest way to remove chewing gum and its traces from fabric.

How to proceed

1. If it is furniture or a carpet, stick some tape over the gum to completely cover it and quickly tear it off the surface.

2. It is easier to put the clothes in the freezer and then remove the frozen gum that has fallen off. This way you can save woolen items.

3. You can remove the residue by heating. But this option is not suitable for all types of fabric.

Most often, jeans and thick fabrics are cleaned this way.

How to heat clothes

1. Start with a household hair dryer. But you don't need to heat the gum itself, but the clothes from the inside, and then use a brush or a blunt metal object to scrub off the softened material.

2. You can get rid of gum with the same success by heating the cloth over boiling water.

When the material softens, the elastic is removed in the same way as in the first case.

3. If this does not help, you can place the stained area in a container with boiling water.

4. Iron. Place the damaged item on cardboard or paper with the gum facing down, iron the garment with a hot iron – the gum should stick to the paper.

After this, all that remains is to wash out the stain that remains on the material. This can be done using a stain remover.
