In winter, shoes need to be dried after each wear. It's not that you can catch a cold in damp shoes.

There is a more delicate problem – an unpleasant smell, which is only intensified by dampness. Drying your shoes alone will not solve the problem. Here are some tips.

The unpleasant smell will disappear without dry cleaning or other professional shoe care products. Try these life hacks.

Baking soda

It not only absorbs moisture and odors, but also fights bacteria that spread in a warm and humid environment. They are the ones that cause the odor.

Baking soda is poured into the boots, left overnight, and then shaken out and the inside of the boots is cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.

Tea bags

You can use tea bags or soak napkins in strong tea leaves.

This method only allows you to deodorize shoes.
Place bags or a napkin in the boots and leave the pair to dry for 24 hours.

Vinegar

Just like soda, it resists the appearance of bacteria and fungi. But it copes with the smell better than soda.

You need to prepare a 1:1 water-vinegar solution, pour it into a spray bottle and treat the inside of the boots.

But the shoes will take longer to dry.

Activated carbon

This is the most effective method. Pour the tablets into a bag or an old sock and place it in your shoes. The unpleasant smell will disappear in a few hours.

Previously, we talked about how you shouldn’t use washing capsules.
