Many people believe that having an automatic washing machine frees them from this heavy duty and that they don’t even have to soak their clothes before washing.
Some housewives continue to soak clothes or linens before starting the washing machine.
Let's try to figure out what would actually be correct.
Why soak?
This simple procedure significantly increases the efficiency of washing, as stains and dirt are better dissolved.
In addition, after soaking, some of the dirt remains in the soap solution and cleaner laundry enters the machine.
You can also save on laundry, because you can get your clothes in order the first time.
No need to soak
Clothes that are going to be refreshed after being worn a couple of times, or items with minor stains.
How to proceed
1. For soaking, you need to separate items by color, type of fabric and degree of contamination.
2. The water temperature should be 40 degrees, and household chemicals should be added in half the amount required for washing.
3. The procedure lasts up to 30 minutes, after which the dirty water is drained and repeated if necessary. If you soak the laundry for an hour, the dirt will begin to penetrate the fibers of the fabric.
4. Delicate fabrics and synthetics are soaked for 15-20 minutes.
After soaking, all that remains is to wring out the laundry and put it in the washing machine.
