Vinegar is considered a universal cleaning agent that is quite often used in the process of cleaning an apartment.
It is added to various mixtures and is often combined with soda to initiate the reaction.
White vinegar is especially good at removing limescale from your kettle or plaque from your bathroom.
But there are types of surfaces and objects that are not recommended to be washed with vinegar to avoid damage.
What you can't wash with vinegar
Here are some examples.
- Countertop. Vinegar should not be used to clean stone, marble or granite – it may lose its original shine over time.
- Electronic devices. Do not wash your smartphone, laptop or computer equipment.
- Parquet floors. Some types of flooring do not tolerate acetic acid – the liquid can destroy the wood.
- Waxed furniture. The situation is the same as with wood. The acid easily corrodes the surface.
- Aluminum and cast iron. Usually frying pans are made of this material - vinegar can destroy the coating and metal.
We have previously described the use of citric acid in more detail.
