As a rule, manual cleaning with a shovel is used to clear snow from paths.
This method, it must be admitted, is quite labor-intensive, and the special wide flat shovel can break at the most inopportune moment.
That's why we have to look for alternative ways to remove snow from paths.
Rock salt
Sprinkle the paths with the most common table salt, and the melting temperature of the snow will change from 0 to -10 degrees.
This method has only one drawback: it does not work in severe frosts.
Alcohol and dishwashing liquid
To quickly melt snow, use a solution of warm water, rubbing alcohol, and dishwashing liquid.
For a garden watering can of water you will need one tablespoon of detergent and half a glass of alcohol.
When the product is ready, pour it onto icy areas or compacted snow.
Just be sure to sweep up any water from the treated surfaces to reduce the risk of it freezing and causing the walkway to become icy again.
Previously, we talked about how to protect a greenhouse from damage due to snow.
