How to clean a stove grate

Follow these steps to clean your stovetop grates.

1. Remove the grate from the stove and place it in a grocery bag.

2. Pour soda into the bag so that it covers the entire grill. Don't skimp on the soda, as it will react with the vinegar and remove grease and carbon deposits.

3. Pour vinegar into the bag so that it soaks all the soda. You will hear hissing and see bubbles - this means that a chemical reaction is taking place that destroys the dirt on the grill.

4. Tie the bag and leave it for a few hours or overnight. The longer you keep the grate in the bag, the better the result will be.

5. Take the grill out of the bag and rinse it under warm water. You will see how easily all the dirt is washed off. If there are small marks left, you can wipe them with a sponge or cloth.

6. Dry the grate and place it back on the stove. Enjoy the clean and shiny grate!
