Coffee is a popular drink used to wake up the body in the morning and at lunchtime.
Quite often, a standard coffee maker is used to prepare it, which requires regular cleaning.
It's not so much the coffee residue that's the problem, but the scale that remains after using tap water.
But there is a simple life hack that does not require the use of aggressive chemicals for cleaning.
How to clean a coffee maker
Note that tap water contains quite a lot of calcium and magnesium salts, which form scale on the tank. Filters cannot cope with these minerals.
Here's how to clean your coffee maker using citric acid.
- We wipe the instruments with a damp cloth.
- Prepare a solution: dissolve 30 grams of citric acid in 1 liter of water.
- We wash the water tank, put it back in place and pour the prepared solution into it.
- We set the coffee making mode and turn on the coffee maker.
- When the liquid is used up, rinse the tank again and repeat the procedure.
