Washing and drying a down jacket is a real pain. Often, stains or streaks remain after washing, which makes it easier to take the item to the dry cleaner or wash it in some other way.

It is recommended to clean down jackets using dishwashing liquid.
But the products produce a lot of foam, which has to be rinsed out thoroughly and for a long time.
In fact, laundry soap copes well with this type of dirt.
How to proceed
Unlike detergents, laundry soap does not produce such abundant and thick foam.
Take a regular bar of soap and a sponge.
Lightly lather a damp sponge and begin treating the soiled areas of the down jacket.
The more often you rinse the sponge, the less dirt will be smeared on the jacket.
After the dirt has come off, the remaining soap is removed with the same sponge, but it must be rinsed each time in clean running water.
Once cleaning is complete, all that remains is to wipe the material with a terry towel and dry the jacket in the open air.
In extreme cases, you can dry it with a hair dryer, but only with warm air, not hot.
