If you notice that the spokes of your umbrella are covered in rust, don’t be surprised – this sometimes happens due to frequent contact of the product with water.
Instead of saying goodbye to this much-needed accessory and rushing to the store for a new umbrella, try to fix the problem yourself.
Moreover, all you need for this is the most ordinary lemon.
Squeeze the juice out of a sour fruit (by the way, you don’t have to use the whole citrus fruit – half of it will do), then soak a sponge in it and wipe the rusty spokes with it.
Now you can calmly go about your business for 10 minutes while the lemon juice fights the rust.
After the specified time, all that remains is to remove the “cleaning agent” with a damp cloth.
After this, the metal parts of the umbrella must be washed with clean water and then lubricated to prevent the mechanism from jamming.
By the way, this same method will come in handy when you need to remove rust from fabric. You need to soak a cloth with the juice of half a lemon to treat the dirty areas, after which you should direct a stream of steam from an iron, steam cleaner or steamer to these areas.
Any remaining rust is removed with a brush, and any traces of juice are washed off with clean, warm water.
