A grater is a useful and in many cases irreplaceable kitchen tool.
The device comes to the rescue when you need to chop some product (cheese, carrots, potatoes, etc.).
It would seem that there is nothing complicated about using a grater.
However, most housewives make the same mistake over the years: they install the device incorrectly.
What many people do wrong
Almost all amateur cooks place the square grater vertically.
This is an incorrect placement of the tool, because in this case, grinding the product becomes noticeably more difficult.
In addition, pieces of food fall directly onto the countertop or cutting board.
Of course, you can put a plate under the grater, but this is not very convenient.
How to use a grater correctly
Before grating cheese or vegetables, place the device horizontally.
This approach has two advantages at once. Firstly, it becomes much easier to chop food: the cook has to put in much less effort.
Secondly, the grated product remains inside the square tool. Thus, there is no need to collect pieces of food from the table: the crushed product can be immediately poured where needed.
