It would be naive to think that you can deal with the stains that cover glass dish lids using just dishwashing detergent.
No – the nasty dirt gets stuck under the rim, where it’s not so easy to get it out.
However, there is still a way out of this situation: if you prepare a solution according to the recipe in this article and leave the lid in it, the carbon deposits and drops of fat will come off on their own.
So what should be done?
Fill the kettle with 3 liters of water and boil it. While the boiling water is "cooking", mix two teaspoons of soda and a teaspoon of dry mustard in a suitable container.
Now pour hot water over the mixture of the two components and soak the lid in the resulting solution.
Kitchen utensils should be kept in this mixture for at least 15 minutes – you will see a positive result immediately.
All that remains is to wipe the lids with a sponge with a drop of detergent, and you can rinse them in clean water.
