A knife is undoubtedly present in every kitchen, but a sharpening machine or even a sharpening stone is, you must admit, a rather rare thing.
If you find yourself in a difficult situation, don't get upset. Instead, find your makeup bag and pull out a nail file from its depths.
This “accessory”, which has a rough surface, will do an excellent job of sharpening a knife.
To begin, we advise you to soak the knife for half an hour in a glass of water with 2 teaspoons of salt added.
After this, place the file on the table so that its smoother side faces down.
Place the knife on the file at an angle of about 15 degrees, pointing the blade away from you. Move the knife away from you, pressing down on the surface of the file, and with your other hand, holding the equivalent of a sharpening stone.
Continue moving the knife, trying to use the entire length of the blade and keeping the desired angle constant.
Now turn the knife over to the other side. Return the cutlery to yourself, sharpening it in the same way.
