Cut irises can retain their fresh appearance for a relatively short time – approximately 7-10 days.
However, you can easily extend this period. To do this, you just need to follow a number of simple recommendations.
First of all, it is worth remembering that flowers need to be cut correctly - this means that the procedure must be carried out early in the morning or late in the evening. Cutting irises during the day is allowed only when the weather outside is cloudy.
To make a cut, you will need a sharp tool. By the way, it is not necessary to wait until all the buds have blossomed – just one open one is enough.
Be sure to remove any dry or damaged leaves, as well as any foliage that has fallen under water.
The vase should be filled with cool purified or settled water, the temperature of which is 2-5 degrees. You can even throw in a few ice cubes.
Please note: the bouquet should be immersed in water no more than one third.
In addition, you should add 1 teaspoon of sugar per 1 liter of water to the vase, and take the container with irises to a bright room, but away from direct sunlight.
