Choose the wrong temperature for a particular type of fabric and voila! The iron is covered with a black and sticky residue that can stain the rest of your laundry.

We will tell you how to clean all this mess with improvised means. Any of these means can be found in every home.

Soda

Dissolve a couple of spoons of baking soda in a small amount of warm water. Soak a cloth in this solution and start cleaning the sole of the iron.

Salt

This is the most popular method. Salt is poured onto a newspaper, the iron is heated to maximum, and then the layer of salt is ironed. It works great if the stain is small and fresh.

Nail polish remover

The liquid is applied to a cotton pad or rag and the damaged surface is wiped. Then the stain should be wiped with a damp cloth. In this case, there is no need to heat the device.

Vinegar

You need to prepare a water-vinegar solution. Mix the components in a 1:1 ratio. Heat the iron, wipe the stain, and then remove the remaining vinegar with a damp cloth.

Soap

Wipe the sole of the heated iron with a bar of laundry soap. Remove any remaining carbon deposits with a napkin.

Candle

It is better to use paraffin, wrapping it in cotton material. The iron is heated, and the stain is wiped, making circular movements. The main thing is that the paraffin does not get into the steam nozzles.

Peroxide

The easiest way to clean the stain is to soak a cotton pad in hydrogen peroxide (three percent).

Toothpaste

The iron also needs to be heated, apply the paste (not gel) in an even layer, wait until it dries, and you can remove it along with the carbon deposits.

And if there is nothing at all, then you can try to clean a fresh stain of burnt synthetics from a hot iron with cold water. They say that due to temperature changes, the carbon deposit should fall off by itself.
