Owners of small apartments organize additional storage space on windowsills for various things.
But you can't place any objects on them. Because the result can be a damaged window sill or thing.
What should be removed immediately
1. Cosmetics and household chemicals. Things heat up from the sun's rays. This can cause damage to the items. Due to an undesirable chemical reaction, cosmetics or household products can lose their properties or even become dangerous.
2. The windowsill creates unfavorable conditions for storing food products. This is especially true for vegetables, fruits, and sweets.
3. Plasticine and candles. They will not only melt, but also ruin the window sill.
4. Books and photographs. The paint fades under constant exposure to sunlight.
What can be stored on a windowsill
If you don’t want to bother, you can simply place indoor plants on the windowsill.
The second option is to organize a place for rest, if the width of this element allows. Here you can warm yourself in the sun, look at the birds, and read a book.
Electric kettle
It is not recommended to store electrical appliances on the windowsill. But this especially concerns a kettle, coffee maker, multicooker. During operation, hot steam is released, which can cause cold glass to crack.
If the windows fog up every now and then even without a kettle, then it definitely doesn't belong on the windowsill. Due to the high humidity level, mold may appear on the window.
