Over time, the grates on the stove become covered with such a thick layer of fat that housewives forget what they looked like originally.
Because of this, even cooking on such a stove becomes unpleasant.
Therefore, we will hasten to share with you a method that will help clean cast iron grates from grease.
To do this, mix 1 part ammonia and 2 parts dishwashing detergent in a suitable container.
To mix the components needed to make the cleaning mixture, you can use a wooden stick.
Now dip a paper towel into the solution and when it is sufficiently soaked, wrap it around the grate.
Perhaps for some this reminder will be unnecessary, but we will still clarify: you should work only in a well-ventilated area, wearing gloves.
Line the grill with wet paper towels, then place it in a plastic bag and tie it shut.
Leave the grate like this overnight, and in the morning unfold the bag and remove the paper towels.
You will see that even the hardened deposits have become soft and can be easily removed with a knife. After that, rub the grill with the hard side of the sponge, periodically rinsing it with water – there will be no trace of the deposits.
